Fishing Report 16/10/2018

LESLIE DAM: Leslie Dam continues to fish well, with anglers landing some nice fish over the past week.  Murray Cod at Leslie are still quite active, with several reports coming in from anglers trying their luck.  A local angler landed a lovely 78cm Murray Cod on a trolled spinnerbait.  We received several reports of other smaller cod on the move.  Anglers chasing Golden Perch also landed some solid fish from both boats and along the bank. Blades continue to be the lures of choice at the moment.

CONNOLLY DAM: Anglers at Connolly are landing some reasonable sized Golden Perch in various spots along the bank on a variety of lures and bait.  We received a few reports of some Murray Cod on the move.  Anglers casting swimbaits early morning seem to be having the most success, landing fish around the 70cm mark.

RIVERS AND CREEKS: The Condamine River in the town area is definitely worth a look, with anglers landing some quality Golden Perch upstream of the Mill Hole on Mumblers.  Anglers continue to land Golden Perch in various locations close to the town area.  Anglers from Allora also reported on a few better quality Golden Perch being landed in the Dalrymple on bait and lures.

Fishing Report 10/10/2018

LESLIE DAM: Leslie Dam is fishing well at present, with anglers landing some great fish.  Murray Cod have been very active, with several anglers landing legal sized fish from both the bank and out of boats.  We received reports of three fish measuring in excess of 1 metre being landed over the weekend.  The biggest of these measured 113cm and was landed on a Bassman Spinnerbait.  Anglers continue to land plenty of Golden Perch.  Land based anglers landed some good numbers midweek while casting TN60 Jackalls in various spots.  Anglers also saw an increase on fish being landed on bait and trolled hard body lures.

RIVERS AND CREEKS: The Condamine River has seen an improvement, with anglers landing some solid Golden Perch midweek on lures.  Spinnerbaits have been working well on the eastern side of town.  Anglers fishing in town also landed a few better quality Golden Perch on bait.  Anglers fishing in the Pratten, Victoria Hill and Millmerran areas also reported on some good numbers of Golden Perch on the move, with both bait and lures working well.

Fishing Report 18/9/2018

LESLIE DAM: Anglers at Leslie Dam have landed some reasonable fish over the past week.  The weekend was a little quieter, mainly due to the windy weather conditions. Anglers reported on some larger Golden Perch, with some measuring up to 48cm in length.  Blades continue to work the best for the lure anglers.  Leslie’s Murray Cod have been quite active, with several fish being landed on trolled spinnerbaits and larger hard body lures.  A Toowoomba angler caught and released a lovely 92cm Murray Cod on Friday morning on a 5/8 Spinnerbait.

CONNOLLY DAM: Connolly remained fairly consistent on previous weeks.  Anglers fishing along the eastern edge of the dam landed Golden and Silver Perch on worms and saltwater yabbies.  Anglers also reported on some big Catfish on the move.  Kayak anglers reported on things being quiet over the weekend, with only a handful of Golden Perch being landed on smaller hard body lures.

RIVERS AND CREEKS: The Condamine River has seen an increase of Golden Perch being landed over the past week.  We received numerous reports from both sides of town of fish being landed on lures, with spinnerbaits being the most successful.  Anglers fishing in the Pratten and Millmerran areas reported on some good numbers of Golden Perch, with reports of a few Murray Cod on the move.  Remember that it is Closed Cod Season so they must be returned to the water as soon as possible.

Fishing Report 10/9/2018

LESLIE DAM: Anglers at Leslie Dam have reported on some better numbers over the past week.  We received several reports of legal sized Murray Cod landed.  Anglers trolling spinnerbaits and hard body lures had the most success on Murray Cod.  The larger Golden Perch have been a little quiet.  Anglers have managed to land some smaller ones, from both boats and from the bank.  Anglers trolling hard body lures also landed some nice fish.

CONNOLLY DAM: Anglers have seen an improvement at Connolly, with reports of a few nice Golden and Silver Perch being landed on bait.  Anglers fishing with lures also had some success, with a legal sized Murray Cod being landed on a Jackall Gigantarel.  Anglers also reported on some Golden Perch being landed on TN60 Jackalls and Spinnerbaits.

RIVERS AND CREEKS: Anglers fishing the Condamine River landed some quality Golden Perch over the weekend, with several reports of solid fish measuring over 45cm.  Spinnerbaits proved to be very successful for the lure anglers fishing on the western side of Warwick.  Anglers fishing to the east had success on worms, with a local angler landing 3 legal sized Golden Perch at Murrays Bridge on Sunday afternoon.

Fishing Report 4/9/2018

LESLIE DAM: Anglers at Leslie Dam are landing a few more fish than last week.   Midweek anglers reported on some nice fish being landed, with afternoons proving to be the most successful.  The windy conditions on Saturday saw anglers only landing a few fish from the bank.  We received a few reports of Golden Perch and Catfish landed at the Washpool on frozen shrimps and saltwater yabbies.  Anglers on Sunday had more success, with anglers reporting on some reasonable numbers of legal sized Golden Perch as well as the odd Murray Cod.  Blades continue to be the lures of choice for the lure anglers.

CONNOLLY DAM: Anglers at Connolly experienced mixed results, with some having more success than others.  Bait anglers are landing some legal sized Golden Perch on worms and crazy along the edges.  Kayak anglers landed some solid Golden Perch while trolling spinnerbaits and TN70 Jackalls in the deeper water.

RIVERS AND CREEKS: The Condamine River continues to fish well in some spots.  Anglers fishing the eastern side of Warwick reported on some solid Golden Perch being landed on lures.  Spinnerbaits are working well at the moment, with several reports coming from the Cullendore/Murray’s Bridge areas.  The town area also produced a few legal sized Golden Perch on diving hard body lures.  The western side of Warwick was a little slower this week.

Don’t forget it’s Closed Cod Season in all Queensland waters contained in the a Murray Darling Drainage Division - 1 September to 30 November, with the exception of Leslie Dam, Connolly Dam, Cooby Dam, Coolmunda Dam, Glenlyon Dam, Storm King Dam and Beardmore Dam.

Fishing Report 28/8/18

LESLIE DAM: Anglers at Leslie Dam commented on things being fairly quiet over the past week.  We received reports of a few anglers landing Golden Perch in the main basin on bait.  Blades were a little slower than previous weeks.  We received reports of a few more Murray Cod on the move, with a Toowoomba angler landing two legal size fish on trolled spinnerbaits.

MOOGERAH DAM: Anglers at Moogerah are landing some reasonable sized Golden Perch on both lures and bait, with afternoons being a little more successful than mornings.  Anglers targeting Bass are also landing some nice fish.  Numbers aren’t huge but the fish landed have been quality fish.  Spoons, blades and jerkbaits along the edges have all landed some nice fish.

RIVERS AND CREEKS: The Condamine River saw a few better fish landed this week, with some solid Golden Perch being landed in the town area on hard body lures.  Anglers in the Cullendore area also reported on Golden Perch being active over the weekend, with some fish measuring up to 48cm in length.  The majority of the fish were landed on lures.

Fishing Report 22/8/2018

LESLIE DAM: Anglers at Leslie Dam are reporting on reasonable numbers of Golden Perch being landed over the past week.  The windy weather conditions last weekend made things difficult for anglers.  Blades and soft vibes continue to work well for the lure anglers, particularly when fished in the deeper water.  Anglers are seeing the best results in the main basin just after lunch.  We received several reports of smaller Murray Cod on the move, some measuring up to 75cm in length.

CONNOLLY DAM: Anglers at Connolly commented on things being very quiet, with only a handful of legal sized fish being landed.  Most of these fish were landed from the bank on bait.  Kayak anglers casting along the western bank landed the odd Golden Perch on TN Jackalls.


RIVERS AND CREEKS: The Condamine Rivers remains quiet on the fishing front.  Anglers fishing in the town area landed only the odd undersized Golden Perch in bait.  We received a few reports of Carp being removed from our waterways over the past week.  This is mainly due to drop in water levels.  The Killarney and western side of Warwick continue to be fairly quiet.
