Fishing Report 31/10/2018

LESLIE DAM: Anglers at Leslie Dam are reporting on plenty of fish on the move over the past week.  Murray Cod have been quite active, with several larger fish being landed.  Spinnerbaits continue to be very successful when casting the structure in the main basin.  They have also accounted for some nice fish when being trolled.  There has also been reports of some quality Golden Perch being landed.  Some anglers have reported on landing up to 35 fish in a session.  Anglers are seeing he best results when locating the schooled Golden Perch on their sounders and jigging blades off the bottom.

CONNOLLY DAM: Anglers at Connolly Dam reported on a few more Golden Perch being landed than previous weeks.  Anglers using worms accounted for a few legal sized Silver Perch along the bank.  Anglers also reported on a few Murray Cod on the move, with some better fish being landed on lures.  An angler from Gatton caught and released a lovely 82cm Murray Cod on Friday morning on a Jackall Gantarel.


RIVERS AND CREEKS: The Condamine River remains a little quiet at present, particularly for the lures anglers.  This is mainly due to the poor water clarity.  Anglers landed several legal sized Golden Perch in the town area on bait.  Anglers fishing downstream of the Bacon Factory reported on some nice Golden Perch being landed, with some measuring up to 43cm.  These fish were all landed on worms.  We also received several reports of big Carp being removed from the river.

Fishing Report 24/10/2018

LESLIE DAM: Leslie Dam continues to fish well, with local anglers picking up some nice fish over the past week.  Anglers have landed some quality Golden Perch, with several anglers filling their bag limits.  Shrimps and worms are working well for the bait anglers from both the boat and various spots along he bank.  Murray Cod have been quite active, with several reports of fish being landed ranging between 60cm and 90cm in length.  The majority of these fish were landed on spinnerbaits, while trolled hard body lures also saw some results.

CONNOLLY DAM: Anglers at Connolly experienced mixed results, with some having more success than others.  Bait anglers are landing some legal sized Golden Perch on worms along the edges.  Kayak anglers landed some solid Golden Perch while trolling spinnerbaits and TN70 Jackalls in the deeper water.

RIVERS AND CREEKS: The Condamine River saw a slight fresh in the Warwick town area during the week, which has resulted in a few more fish on the move.  The majority of these fish were landed on bait.  A local female angler landed a lovely 48cm Golden Perch at the Wallace Street bridge on bait.  Regular spots are still worth a try.  Spinnerbaits are having more success than hard body lures in the dirtier water.

Fishing Report 16/10/2018

LESLIE DAM: Leslie Dam continues to fish well, with anglers landing some nice fish over the past week.  Murray Cod at Leslie are still quite active, with several reports coming in from anglers trying their luck.  A local angler landed a lovely 78cm Murray Cod on a trolled spinnerbait.  We received several reports of other smaller cod on the move.  Anglers chasing Golden Perch also landed some solid fish from both boats and along the bank. Blades continue to be the lures of choice at the moment.

CONNOLLY DAM: Anglers at Connolly are landing some reasonable sized Golden Perch in various spots along the bank on a variety of lures and bait.  We received a few reports of some Murray Cod on the move.  Anglers casting swimbaits early morning seem to be having the most success, landing fish around the 70cm mark.

RIVERS AND CREEKS: The Condamine River in the town area is definitely worth a look, with anglers landing some quality Golden Perch upstream of the Mill Hole on Mumblers.  Anglers continue to land Golden Perch in various locations close to the town area.  Anglers from Allora also reported on a few better quality Golden Perch being landed in the Dalrymple on bait and lures.

Fishing Report 10/10/2018

LESLIE DAM: Leslie Dam is fishing well at present, with anglers landing some great fish.  Murray Cod have been very active, with several anglers landing legal sized fish from both the bank and out of boats.  We received reports of three fish measuring in excess of 1 metre being landed over the weekend.  The biggest of these measured 113cm and was landed on a Bassman Spinnerbait.  Anglers continue to land plenty of Golden Perch.  Land based anglers landed some good numbers midweek while casting TN60 Jackalls in various spots.  Anglers also saw an increase on fish being landed on bait and trolled hard body lures.

RIVERS AND CREEKS: The Condamine River has seen an improvement, with anglers landing some solid Golden Perch midweek on lures.  Spinnerbaits have been working well on the eastern side of town.  Anglers fishing in town also landed a few better quality Golden Perch on bait.  Anglers fishing in the Pratten, Victoria Hill and Millmerran areas also reported on some good numbers of Golden Perch on the move, with both bait and lures working well.
