FISHING REPORT - 26/5/2015

LESLIE DAM: Leslie Dam has been a little quiet, with only a few legal sized fish being landed over the past week.  There were some quality Golden Perch landed on shrimps in the main basin opposite the boat ramps but numbers weren’t huge.  Campers at the Washpool also reported on a few Silver Perch and Catfish off the bank on Sunday.  There was also a 64cm Murray Cod landed on Sunday morning on a Kezza Mudmouse.

CONNOLLY DAM: Anglers reported on things being reasonably quiet at Connelly over the past week.  There were a few legal sized Golden and Silver Perch landed off the bank, with worms being the most successful.  One local angler landed a very healthy 66cm on a Imakatsu Cracker Craw.

MOOGERAH DAM / MAROON DAM: There are several schools of Bass in the main basin at Moogerah Dam.  These schools are quite active at times.  Blades, plastics, mask vibes, ice-jigs and tail spinners are all working well.  We received reports of quality Bass being landed, measuring up to 49cm in length.  Most of these fish are sitting close to the bottom in around the 30 feet of water.  Maroon is also seeing some nice fish being landed.  Both dams are certainly worth a try.

RIVERS AND CREEKS: The Condamine River between Killarney and Warwick is fishing reasonably well, with several anglers having success over the weekend.  We received reports of a few legal sized Golden Perch landed around Murrays Bridge on spinnerbaits.  Anglers fishing in the Killarney area also had success on crays.  There were several reports of Murray Cod being landed in the river.  This is a great sign for our river system.

Kezza Mudmouse

The Kezza Mudmouse is a handcrafted timber lure made by Toowoomba angler Kerry Ehrlich.  The Mudmouse comes in a variety of colours and depth ranges, with 6-8 metres being very popular and successful.  These timber lures are made from local Australian timbers and are proven and tested on a wide variety of both fresh and saltwater species.  The Mudmouse has to be seen to be believed. It walks over snags and thumps out heaps of vibration.  They are certainly worth a spot in your tackle box.

FISHING REPORT - 19/05/2015

LESLIE DAM: The bait anglers at Leslie Dam had the most success over the past week, with some reasonable Golden Perch being landed in the main basin.  Shrimps worked the best, with saltwater yabbies working quite well.  There were a few Golden Perch landed while trolling hard body lures in front of the Washpool.  Green and black seemed to be the colours of choice.  We also received a report of a lovely Murray Cod being landed on a hard body lure, measuring in the mid 70cm.

CONNOLLY DAM: Anglers reported on Connolly Dam fishing reasonably well over the past week or so.  There were some legal sized Silver Perch landed on worms.  There was also a 62cm Murray Cod landed on a Jackall Pompadour.  Overall, Connolly Dam is certainly worth a look.

MOOGERAH DAM / MAROON DAM: Both dams are fishing quite well.  We received reports of plenty of Bass being landed at Maroon in the weed.  Weedless rigged Keitech Plastics worked well.  Anglers at Moogerah are having success on the schooled fish in the main basin.  Ice-jigs, tailspinners and mask vibes are all working well.

RIVERS AND CREEKS: The Condamine River has been quite successful this week, with several anglers reporting on landing some quality fish.  Anglers had the best success on bait, with reports of up to 4 legal sized fish being landed on shrimps and worms.  One local young angler landed a lovely Murray Cod near Killarney on a spinnerbait.

Fishing Report - 12/5/2015

LESLIE DAM: Anglers at Leslie Dam are still having reasonable success on both live and frozen bait.  There were some quality Golden Perch landed over the weekend in the main basin, with mornings proving to be the most successful time.  Anglers also had success below the Black Boys.  Trolling hard body lures was also a method that accounted for some legal sized fish.  Green and black Hydrobugs worked well with one Allora angler landing 6 Golden Perch on Monday morning.

COOLMUNDA DAM: Coolmunda Dam is very quite well at the moment, with reports from several anglers of some nice fish.  There has been some reasonable quality Golden Perch landed on spinnerbaits when fishing in the timbered areas.  Live shrimps also accounted for several fish in the deeper water.

MOOGERAH DAM / MAROON DAM: The Bass at Moogerah have been quite active, with several schools of fish being located on sounders.  The fish are holding hard on the bottom.  Therefore, ice-jigs are working well.  There was several quality Bass landed over the weekend.  Blades, mask vibes and tail spinners also had success.  Early morning proved to be the most successful time.

RIVERS AND CREEKS: The Condamine River remains quite dirty.  There have been reports of a few smaller Golden Perch to the east of Warwick.  There was also a 62cm Murray Cod landed on a crayfish.  We received reports of a few Carp landed in the town area.
