Fishing Report - 1/12/2015

LESLIE DAM: Leslie Dam remains consistent, with most anglers having success over the past week.  There were several Golden Perch landed on trolled lures in approximately 15 – 25 foot of water.  Brighter coloured lures seems to be the most successful.  We received reports of some smaller Murray Cod being landed, with two of these fish measuring in excess of 60cm.  There were also several fish landed on bait, with some quality Silver Perch and Catties being landed off the bank on worms.

GLENLYON DAM: Glenlyon Dam is fishing well, with some great Murray Cod being landed down there over the past week or so.  There were plenty of fish measuring in between 70cm and 85cm.  The majority of these fish were landed on spinnerbaits.

MOOGERAH DAM / MAROON DAM: There were a few solid Bass landed at Moogerah over the weekend.  These fish were being landed on spinnerbaits by anglers fishing the weed edge in the main basin early in the morning.  There were also a few nice fish landed in and around the timber on both lures and bait.

RIVERS AND CREEKS: The Condamine River saw a few more fish being landed on lures late in the week.  However, the storm on Sunday afternoon has caused a slight rise in the river again and a colour change which will slow things up for the lure anglers.  There were several Golden Perch landed on bait in the town area as well as to the east and west of Warwick.

DON’T FORGET, MURRAY COD SEASON IS NOW OPEN.

PRODUCT REVIEW

Imakatsu Metal Craw Spin

New bladed vibration type.  Metal Craw Spin is excellent for lift & fall technique as well as a slow to medium roll.  The blades will spin freely on the fall making it excellent fishing vertical structure such as steep rock edges, weed edges and standing timber.

The size 3 blades will create vibration and flash to attract a bite. The bottom blade can be removed and a W hook can be fitted without affecting the lures action. If needed a stinger hook can be fitted to the tail when fish are not aggressive and short striking.

It works well straight out of the package but you can bend the wire to make the blades occasionally touch. The sound will imitate a fleeing shrimp.  The Metal Craw Spin will be a hit in Australias freshwater impoundment for bass, yellow belly and cod.

Twin Blade System creates a new standard.  Specially designed ultra thin material allows the blades to respond and the lure to rise quickly even over a small distance.  The increased response and sensitivity push performance to the limit.
