Fishing Report - 4/7/2016

LESLIE DAM: Leslie Dam Anglers commented on a few more fish being landed over the past week and into the weekend.  Anglers reported on more fish falling to lures, with blades and mask vibes working the best.  Anglers are seeing the best results when targeting fish in deeper water in the main basin and just past the Washpool.  Frozen shrimps and saltwater yabbies are proving to be the most successful bait, with campers at the Washpool Reserve landing some legal seized Silver and Golden Perch off the bank.  We also received two reports of legal sized Murray Cod, one measuring 78cm and landed on a spinnerbait and the other on a frozen shrimp.

CONNOLLY DAM: Connolly Dam remains consistent, with several legal sized fish being landed off the bank on bait.  Anglers commented on the size of the Golden Perch being landed at Connolly over the past few weeks.  Frozen shrimps and worms are working well, with most fish being landed just off the weed edge.  One local angler also managed a lovely 74cm Murray Cod on a cray fish.

RIVERS AND CREEKS: The Condamine River has seen a few more fish being landed, with bait proving the most successful.  We received a report form a Murrays Bridge angler, who landed a 64cm Murray Cod and a legal sized Golden Perch on bait late on Sunday afternoon.  There has been some nice fish landed in the Mill Hole on bait as well as just below the High School.  Spinnerbaits are working the best for the lure anglers at the moment.

PRODUCT REVIEW

Kingfisher Mantis (Articulated 88mm Surface Jointed Lure)

The Mantis range of surface lures are a pinnacle in Lure design and technology. Each Lure incorporates a contained rattle system (CRS) - making these lures the loudest and most versatile surface lures in the world.
All Mantis surface lures are specialized casting lures. The profile and weight distribution of each model provides a flat trajectory, allowing the lure to be cast underneath overhanging structure.
Each Mantis Lure has a rear weight system allowing the rear treble to sit low in the water and therefore optimizing the hook-up rate.
