Fishing Report 27/12/2016

LESLIE DAM: Boating traffic over the Christmas Period was fairly heavy which has caused numbers to be down slightly on previous weeks.  Anglers reported on a few nice Golden Perch being landed in the main basin, closer to the wall end of the dam, on shrimps and saltwater yabbies.  Lures are still accounting for some nice fish, with several reports of fish being landed while casting mask vibes, beatlespins, blades and TN Jackalls. Anglers landed some nice fish up near the Black Boys over the Christmas period while trolling diving hard body lures.  Anglers fishing with bait also landed some nice fish in this area, particularly on shrimps and saltwater yabbies.  We also received reports of a few smaller Murray Cod being landed on spinnerbaits while being casted at the rocky structures.

CONNOLLY DAM: Connolly Dam anglers’ remains fairly consistent, with anglers landing some quality Golden Perch on saltwater yabbies and Silver Perch on worms.  Anglers fishing in the deeper water towards the wall end continue to land some nice fish on lures.

RIVERS AND CREEKS: Anglers experienced an improvement in the Condamine River.  Duckweed in places has made it a little difficult to fish, but for those who remain patient have experienced success.  Both lures and bait accounted for some nice Golden Perch both upstream and downstream of the Scots Weir and to the east of Killarney.  We also received reports of a few Golden Perch landed in the Murray Bridge area.

MAROON DAM: Anglers have reported on plenty of smaller Bass being landed during the past week.  Most of these fish were landed in or close to the weed pockets.  Soft plastics and suspending hard body lures are working well at the moment.  The bait anglers are also landing some quality Bass and Golden Perch on shrimps.
