Fishing Report 1/8/2017

LESLIE DAM: Anglers at Leslie Dam reported things being fairly quiet over the past week and into the weekend, with some local anglers going home empty handed.  Anglers fishing along the eastern bank managed to land a few Golden Perch and Catfish on worms.  Anglers fishing with shrimps and saltwater yabbies landed the odd legal sized Golden Perch in 5-6 metres of water in the main basin, however numbers weren’t great.  We received two reports from anglers using lures of some legal sized Golden Perch being landed on tailspinners and blades in the main basin and just off the ski club.

CONNOLLY DAM: Connolly Dam saw a few fish being landed over the weekend and early into this week, with the afternoon sessions being the most successful time to fish.  Shrimps and worms landed some nice Golden and Silver Perch when being fished from the bank.  We received a report from a local angler who caught and released a 64cm Murray Cod early on Saturday morning on a Westin Swim.

RIVERS AND CREEKS: Things were a little quiet for anglers fishing in the Condamine River.  Those fishing upstream of the Killarney township landed the odd Golden Perch on crays and worms.  We also received a report from kayak angler having success in the Murray Bridge area on spinnerbaits.  Anglers fishing around the Mill Hole also landed some smaller Golden Perch on bait.

MOOGERAH DAM: Moogerah was also a little quiet over the weekend, with local anglers only reporting on a handful of Bass being landed in the main basin and just off the timber in the bottom end of the dam.  Soft plastics are working the best for the lure anglers.
