FISH OF THE WEEK - Thursday 7/8/2014

LESLIE DAM: Leslie Dam saw only a few anglers land some fish over the weekend, mainly due to the windy weather conditions.  The lure anglers had success while using blades and hopping Jackall Mask Vibes around the rocky structure in the main basin.  Numbers weren't huge but the fish landed were quality fish.  We also received reports from campers at Leslie Dam that there was a 64cm Murray Cod landed by an Ipswich angler on a saltwater yabby.  They also managed a few legal Golden Perch.

CONNOLLY DAM: Connolly Dam anglers managed to land a few fish over the weekend.  There were some legal sized Golden and Silver Perch landed on worms and saltwater yabbies in the sheltered areas.

MOOGERAH DAM / MAROON DAM: Moogerah Dam hosted the Jackall Moogerah Teams Competition over the weekend.  What a fabulous weekend and a huge congratulations to all of the organisers.  Most of the fish landed during this competition fell to ice-jigs, tail spins, blades, soft plastics and Jackall Mask Vibes.  The majority were caught in the main basin.  Maroon continues to be very quiet with only the odd fish being landed on soft plastics in the weed pockets.  Shrimps are also proving to be quite successful.

RIVER AND CREEKS: The Condamine River around Lyndhurst produced a few legal sized Golden Perch over the weekend.  These anglers were trolling Oargee Plows from their kayaks.  One local angler also landed 2 legal sized Golden Perch, just below the High School, on a purple JMH Spinnerbait on Saturday morning.
