Fishing Report 15/5/2018

LESLIE DAM: Leslie Dam saw a few more Golden Perch on the move over the weekend than in previous weeks.  Anglers reported on some nice Golden Perch being landed on blades in the main basin in approximately 15-20 foot of water.  There were also some nice fish landed on trolled TN60 Jackalls, with “Brown Dog Gill” being the most successful colour.  Shrimps continue to produce some reasonable fish from both the bank and the boat.  Anglers commented on not as many Catfish being landed as previous week.

RIVERS AND CREEKS: The Condamine River has been a little hit and miss, with some anglers having more luck than others.  We received reports of a few better Cod on the move on the western side of town, with fish landed measuring up to 85cm in length.  Mumblers landed a couple of legal sized Golden Perch in the Scots Weir area.  Anglers fishing in the Cullendore/Murrays Bridge area had success landing some nice Golden Perch on spinnerbaits.

MOOGERAH DAM: Moogerah Dam is definitely worth a look, with local anglers landing some solid fish.  We received reports of some quality Golden Perch on the move over the weekend on both bait and lures.  Blades, mask vibes and tail spinners fished close to the bottom also accounted for some nice Bass in various spots around the dam.

PRODUCT REVIEW

Predatek Jabberwok

Calling big Murray Cod
Jabberwok has been designed to appeal to big Murray Cod, but field testing has proved that plenty of feisty cod in smaller waters will attack it. It's a surface-paddler with a dynamic, splashing action and a variety of sound effects.

Interchangeable bibs
Want two lures virtually for the price of one? Jabberwok delivers. You get both a black and a clear enduroShok bib in the box with each Jabberwok. The bibs are interchangeable without the use of tools if you choose not to fasten the bib to the Jabberwok with a split-ring. Head over to the Project Jabberwok page (www.predatek.com/jabberwok) for a full explanation.

Quick off the mark & low stall speed
You'll appreciate Jabberwok's ability to quickly get into it’s Australian Crawl mode when you start winding it in. You'll also appreciate how slow you can retrieve it without it stalling.

Versatile
In addition to the tow-point on Jabberwok's head, there are four other wire eyelets for attaching hardware...or whatever your imagination comes up with.

Bristling with heavy & symmetrical hardware
Out-of-the-box, Jabberwok runs three 2/0 VMC trebles, but you can run it with two...or four if you're a glutton for punishment! It’s not advised.

Because of the smart, horizontal orientation of the wire eyelets, the hooks hang symmetrically.  It's better than the traditional, asymmetrical way that treble hooks hang on the vast majority of hard-bodied lures.

Noisy
Jabberwok makes burbling noises thanks to the lobes at the tips of the paddling blades. It also has internal rattles to complement the jangling of its hardware. Fishing in the dark, your ears will tell you where Jabberwok is and how it's working.

Swing blade
Out-of-the-box, Jabberwok also comes with a hammer-finished swing blade attached to the belly eyelet. This gives off its own clicking sound as well as adding flash.
