Fishing Report 18/9/2018

LESLIE DAM: Anglers at Leslie Dam have landed some reasonable fish over the past week.  The weekend was a little quieter, mainly due to the windy weather conditions. Anglers reported on some larger Golden Perch, with some measuring up to 48cm in length.  Blades continue to work the best for the lure anglers.  Leslie’s Murray Cod have been quite active, with several fish being landed on trolled spinnerbaits and larger hard body lures.  A Toowoomba angler caught and released a lovely 92cm Murray Cod on Friday morning on a 5/8 Spinnerbait.

CONNOLLY DAM: Connolly remained fairly consistent on previous weeks.  Anglers fishing along the eastern edge of the dam landed Golden and Silver Perch on worms and saltwater yabbies.  Anglers also reported on some big Catfish on the move.  Kayak anglers reported on things being quiet over the weekend, with only a handful of Golden Perch being landed on smaller hard body lures.

RIVERS AND CREEKS: The Condamine River has seen an increase of Golden Perch being landed over the past week.  We received numerous reports from both sides of town of fish being landed on lures, with spinnerbaits being the most successful.  Anglers fishing in the Pratten and Millmerran areas reported on some good numbers of Golden Perch, with reports of a few Murray Cod on the move.  Remember that it is Closed Cod Season so they must be returned to the water as soon as possible.
