Fishing Report - 17/3/2015

LESLIE DAM: Leslie Dam anglers had some success over the past week, with several reports of legal sized Golden Perch being landed on both lures and bait.  Most of the fish are holding close to the bottom.  Blades and Mask Vibes seem to be working the best.  There are also several fish holding in the rocky structure across from the dam wall.  We also received reports of several quality Golden Perch being landed below the Black Boys on saltwater yabbies.  Anglers have also commented on the large numbers of catfish being caught.

CONNOLLY DAM: Connolly Dam has been a little slow.  We only received a few reports of legal sized fish being caught.  There was some quality Silver Perch landed off the bank on the weekend.  One Clifton angler managed to land two Golden Perch while casting a spinnerbait from his kayak.  Overall, things were fairly quiet.

MOOGERAH DAM / MAROON DAM: The boating traffic at Moogerah was heavy, which did have an effect on the fishing.  However, anglers at Moogerah still managed to land some quality Bass over the weekend.  Most of these fish were landed towards the back of the dam.  Blades, tail spinners, Alive Chatters and Plastics all worked well.  There were also a few Bass landed in the main basin.

RIVERS AND CREEKS: The rivers and creek systems around Warwick have improved slightly over the past week or so.  One local angler landed a massive 58cm Golden Perch to the east of Warwick on a spinnerbait.  There was several quality Golden Perch landed to the east of town over the past week, with spinnerbaits accounting for the majority if them.  There were also a few fish landed in the Mill Hole on bait.  There was also some quality Golden Perch landed on soft plastics in Sandy Creek.
