Fishing Report 8/8/2016

LESLIE DAM: The fishing at Leslie Dam has improved over the past week or so, mainly due to the warmer weather conditions.  Leslie remains fairly consistent with some quality Golden Perch being landed on bait.  Saltwater yabbies seem to be working the best at the moment.  Local anglers have been landing some big Catfish off the bank just north of the Ski Club on worms.  We also received reports of a few quality Silver Perch landed on bait.  Anglers fishing the deeper water in the main basin are still seeing the results on Blades, with 3/8 OSP Override in colour 06 working well.  An angler from Boonah managed to land four legal Golden Perch on Beetlespins.

CONNOLLY DAM: Connolly Dam saw several legal sized Silver and Golden Perch landed during the past week on most forms of bait. There were some big fish reported, with the majority of the fish being landed in the southern part of the dam in shallow water.  One Clifton angler managed to land four legal sized Golden Perch on Sunday afternoon while trolling a Southern Cross Fat Ass.

RIVERS AND CREEKS: The Condamine River is improving, with some nice fish being landed on both bait and lures.  Anglers reported on a few Murray Cod on the move, with some quality fish being landed over the past week.  A Killarney angler landed a lovely 70cm Murray Cod on bait.  There were also reports of some quality Golden Perch being landed around Allora and also at Pratten.

MOOGERAH DAM: Moogerah Dam saw some good fish landed in the latter part of the week, with anglers locating the fish on the sounders having the nest results.  Most fish are being landed on slow rolled plastics, with OSP and Keitech Plastics working well.

“Congratulations James Buchner on achieving second place in the “Co-Angler of the Year” in the Bass Australia Nation”.
