Fishing Report - 31/3/2015

LESLIE DAM: Leslie Dam remains fairly quiet, with not too much to report.  There were only a few reports of legal sized Golden Perch landed over the weekend.  The majority of these fish were landed on hard body lures while being trolled.  There were a few fish landed in the main basin on shrimps.  We received a report of a legal sized Murray Cod being landed while trolling a RMG hard body.  Over all, things have been a little slow.

CONNOLLY DAM: Connolly Dam continues to fish fairly consistently, with a few fish being landed over the past week.  The majority of these fish were landed on bait.  Worms and saltwater yabbies proved to be the most successful bait to use.

MOOGERAH DAM / MAROON DAM: Moogerah and Maroon are both fishing well.  Anglers at Moogerah continue to have success while fishing the edge of the timbered area with TN60s and Piranhas.  We received several reports from Maroon that live shrimps were working the best.  The lure anglers had success along the weed edges while using spinnerbaits and soft plastics.

RIVERS AND CREEKS: The water clarity of Condamine River in the town area has improved, however the fishing still remains fairly slow.  We received reports from the eastern side of Warwick of several big carp being landed over the weekend.  There were also some lovely Golden Perch landed on spinnerbaits and blade spinners.  There were a few Catfish landed near the Scots College Weir.

Fishing Report - 24/3/2015

LESLIE DAM: Leslie Dam didn’t see any records broken over the past week.  Bait anglers did it a little tough.  However they did manage to land a few quality Golden Perch.  Shrimps and worms proved to be the most successful bait to use.  There were also some reasonable sized Silver Perch and Catfish landed on bait.  The lure anglers landed fish while casting at the submerged rocks in the main basin.  There were also some nice fish landed while trolling hard body lures and casting blades.

CONNOLLY DAM: Connolly Dam has improved slightly, with anglers reporting of a few nice fish landed on both lures and bait.  One local angler landed a couple of quality Silver Perch on worms, while another landed some nice Golden Perch on TN60 Jackalls.  All of these fish were landed off the bank on the northern side of the dam.

MOOGERAH DAM / MAROON DAM: Anglers at Moogerah Dam saw the best results while trolling hard body lures in the timbered area to the southern part of the dam.  The most successful lure has been the Smak Brolga.  There were also several fish landed on blades and tailspinners.

COOLMUNDA DAM: Coolmunda Dam fished well over the weekend.  Anglers had success on lipless crankbaits around the timber.  TN60 Jackalls and Imakatsu Piranhas proved the most successful lures.  Live shrimp worked well for the bait fishermen.

RIVERS AND CREEKS: Our local river system continued to fish well over the past week, with reports from several anglers of fish being landed in the town area.  One angler managed to land two Golden Perch and an undersized Murray Cod in the Mill Hole on Sunday afternoon on spinnerbaits.  There were plenty of Carp landed, with one local angler removing ten of these pests from our local waterways.  The majority of these pests were landed on soft plastics.  Things were a little quiet to the west of Warwick.  The Condamine River is still quite dirty around the Pratten area, due to the heavy storms over the weekend.

Fishing Report - 17/3/2015

LESLIE DAM: Leslie Dam anglers had some success over the past week, with several reports of legal sized Golden Perch being landed on both lures and bait.  Most of the fish are holding close to the bottom.  Blades and Mask Vibes seem to be working the best.  There are also several fish holding in the rocky structure across from the dam wall.  We also received reports of several quality Golden Perch being landed below the Black Boys on saltwater yabbies.  Anglers have also commented on the large numbers of catfish being caught.

CONNOLLY DAM: Connolly Dam has been a little slow.  We only received a few reports of legal sized fish being caught.  There was some quality Silver Perch landed off the bank on the weekend.  One Clifton angler managed to land two Golden Perch while casting a spinnerbait from his kayak.  Overall, things were fairly quiet.

MOOGERAH DAM / MAROON DAM: The boating traffic at Moogerah was heavy, which did have an effect on the fishing.  However, anglers at Moogerah still managed to land some quality Bass over the weekend.  Most of these fish were landed towards the back of the dam.  Blades, tail spinners, Alive Chatters and Plastics all worked well.  There were also a few Bass landed in the main basin.

RIVERS AND CREEKS: The rivers and creek systems around Warwick have improved slightly over the past week or so.  One local angler landed a massive 58cm Golden Perch to the east of Warwick on a spinnerbait.  There was several quality Golden Perch landed to the east of town over the past week, with spinnerbaits accounting for the majority if them.  There were also a few fish landed in the Mill Hole on bait.  There was also some quality Golden Perch landed on soft plastics in Sandy Creek.

FISHING REPORT - 10/3/2015

LESLIE DAM: There was a slight improvement on previous weeks at Leslie, with reports of some quality Golden Perch landed in the main basin along the western bank opposite the concrete boat ramps.  These fish were landed on shrimps and saltwater yabbies.  The lure anglers also reported on more activity than previous weeks, with blades and TN60 Jackalls working well.  One local angler had success while trolling Hydrobugs around the Black Boys.  He managed to land a 67cm Murray Cod and 4 legal sized Golden Perch.

CONNOLLY DAM: The kayak anglers had the best results at Connolly Dam over the weekend.  We received several reports of smaller Murray Cod being caught and released.  Most of these fish were landed while trolling hard body lures.  We also received reports of some nice Silver Perch and Catfish being landed on worms off the bank.

COOLMUNDA DAM: Coolmunda Dam has been fishing very well over the past week or so.  We received several reports of quality fish being landed on lures and bait.  There were numerous legal sized Murray Cod and plenty of Golden Perch landed over the weekend on spinnerbaits and larger hard body lures.

RIVERS AND CREEKS: The Condamine River to the east of Warwick has been the most productive fishing spot again this week.  This is due mainly to the clarity of the water.  We received reports of some quality Golden Perch being landed in the Killarney area.  There was also a lovely 72cm Murray Cod caught and released on a Luckycraft Keroll Max.  The town area of Warwick has been a little slow.  A Scots College boarder landed a lovely Golden Perch on a spinnerbait.
