Fishing Report 31/10/2017

LESLIE DAM: Anglers at Leslie Dam are landing good numbers of Golden Perch at the moment.  The majority of these fish are being landed on bait.  We received reports of anglers landing over 20 fish in one session.  Anglers are seeing the best results in the afternoons, just on dark.  Anglers are also landing some nice Golden Perch while trolling hard body lures along the bank near the Washpool.  There were also some nice fish landed around the boat ramps and along the bank north of these ramps.

CONNOLLY DAM: Anglers fishing Connolly Dam reported on a few legal sized Golden Perch being landed during the week and into the weekend, with bait also being the most successful at Connolly.  Shrimps and saltwater yabbies seem to be working the best for the bait anglers, with Stumpjumpers working well for the lure anglers especially when fished from a kayak.

RIVERS AND CREEKS: Anglers fishing the Condamine River in the town area managed to land a few quality Golden Perch on both lures and bait.  We received reports of fish being landed in the Mill Hole and upstream of Scots Weir and in the Killarney area.  We also received reports of a few Golden Perch as well as some big Carp have been landed in the Pratten area.

COOLMUNDA DAM: Coolmunda Dam continues to fish well, with some quality Golden Perch and Murray Cod landed over the past week.  Blades and mask vibes are working the best for the lure anglers targeting Golden Perch, while spinnerbaits and Mumblers did the damage on the Cod.

LESLIE DAM: Anglers at Leslie have reported on things being a little quiet compared to last week, mainly due to the weather conditions.  Anglers landed a few Golden Perch during the week, with Sunday proving to be the most successful particularly with the lure anglers.  Blades continue to land some quality Golden Perch in approximately 15-20 foot of water in the main basin.  We received reports of a few better Golden Perch being landed off the bank on bait.

RIVERS AND CREEKS: The Condamine River has improved on previous weeks, with some quality fish being landed.  We received reports of some nice fish being landed in the Killarney and Murrays Bridge areas.  There were also reports of a few Murray Cod on the move.  Don’t forget it is still closed season for Murray Cod and they are to be released unharmed.  Anglers fishing in the Victoria Hill area also managed some legal sized Golden Perch on hard body lures.

COOLMUNDA DAM: Anglers at Coolmunda continue to land some reasonable sized Golden Perch on both lures and bait.  Blades and mask vibes are working well for the lures anglers.  We received a report from a Millmerran angler of some nice fish being landed on Sunday afternoon.  He managed to land 6 legal sized Golden Perch and 4 smaller Murray Cod on lures.

RIVERS AND CREEKS: The Condamine River in the town area has some solid weed in places, which is making it a little difficult to fish in some spots.  Anglers landed a few legal sized Golden Perch around the Killarney area midweek, with Murray Bridge and upstream of the Wallace Street bridge also being seeing some nice results.  The Dalrymple Creek around Allora was also worth a try, with a few larger Golden Perch being landed on shrimps.

LESLIE DAM: There were a few more fish laded at Leslie this week, with the bait anglers having a little more success than lure anglers.  Blades continue to land some nice fish for the lure anglers, with ZX and Littlemax working the best.  Most of the Golden Perch landed were slightly smaller than previous weeks.  Anglers fishing from the bank at the Washpool landed some reasonable Golden Perch on worms and shrimps.

CONNOLLY DAM: Connolly Dam saw a few more anglers trying their luck.  This was mainly due to the windy conditions in the latter part of last week.  Most of the legal sized Golden Perch have been landed from the bank on saltwater yabbies and worms.  Anglers reported on a few smaller Murray Cod on the move.

RIVERS AND CREEKS: The Condamine River continues to fish well, with most of the usual spots producing fish.  Kayak anglers reported on landing some solid Golden Perch around Scots Weir over the weekend on spinnerbaits.  Anglers fishing the bank also landed fish in the Pratten, Lyndhurst Lane Bridge and upstream of the Mill Hole.
