CONGRATULATIONS CODY!!!

Congratulations to Cody Haynes on winning the Tackle Tactics Wilson River Rumble in the first round of the Berkley B.A.S.S. Australia Nation Series 5 by 670 grams.  This is Cody’s first title as a pro angler and is looking for AOY glory.

The Tackle Tactics Wilson River Rumble was setup to test angler’s ability outside of the standard freshwater lake systems through NSW and Qld.  Cody used a crankbait for the majority of the weekend to land good numbers of quality bass at one of his favourite spots. His win puts him into the number one position, and he has already started looking further ahead and wants to claim his first AOY pro title.

We would like to thank Cody on his continued support and wish him every success in his future as a leader in the sport of fishing.

PRODUCT REVIEW

The Vibe is a vibration style lure which is available in three sizes in the Semi-Hardz range. Perfectly balanced, the Semi-Hardz Vibe will sink horizontally, meaning any movement of the rod tip will have it swimming instantly. Designed for offshore, impoundment and estuary use, the lure has been tested extensively on species such as snapper, bass and bream. Barra will also find it irresistible. The lure is designed to be cast and allowed to sink and fished with long and purposeful lifts of the rod tips which will see it swim with a tight wobble attracting a variety of species. The lure sinks slowly and is capable of being fished in a wide range of situations and is built extra tough with a heavy duty wire running through the lure, insuring you stay connected with your prey, while the life-like feel of the Semi-Hardz will keep fish coming back again and again.

Zerek Flat Shad

The Zerek Flat Shads are patented lure invention never seen before. It works in such a way it makes it easy to hook a fish by squashing flat on strike exposing the hook to the unsuspecting fish. The slots or slits in the sides of the body result in the advantage. It also allows the lure to fold from head to tail and vice versa giving far easier hook ups on fish that suck lures in.

The Flat Shad comes rigged weedless and can be successfully wound through most snags and rocky terrain but the downfall of this type of rigging is always that bites are hard to convert into hook ups and the patented design of the Flat Shad put the odds back into the fisherman's favour when fishing weedless.

The Flat Shad can also be fished with a conventional lead jig head. The Flat Shad comes in 3.5, 4.5, 5, 7 and 9 inch models and is made out of special elastic plastic that is more than 10 times stronger than conventional soft plastic lures.

Fishing Report 25/7/2017

LESLIE DAM: Anglers at Leslie Dam have experienced mixed results over the past week.  Sunday was the best day for the bait anglers, with reports of a few nice fish being landed mainly on saltwater yabbies.  We received several reports of anglers landing 10 or more Golden Perch, with some quality fish amongst them.  Anglers using blades are still seeing the best result at present, with some solid Golden Perch being landed.  These fish are landing in approximately 5 metres of water.  Anglers trolling hard body lures are managing to land the odd fish but most are closer to the bottom resulting in blades or mask vibes being the better option.

CONNOLLY DAM: Anglers at Connolly Dam are also landing a few legal sized Golden Perch on bait, with most fish being landed in the afternoons.  Anglers have also reported on some legal sized Golden Perch being landed on worms over the weekend.  It has been a little quiet for the lure anglers.  We received a report of a 67cm Murray Cod being landed on an Obsession Twinspin.

RIVERS AND CREEKS: The Condamine River is fishing quite well at the moment, with anglers having some success on the eastern side of town when fishing from kayaks.  We received reports of several smaller Murray Cod being landed on spinnerbaits and one on a swimbait.  There were some nice Golden Perch landed in the Mill Hole and upstream of Scots Weir on bait.  One local angler landed two Golden Perch on Sunday afternoon on a spinnerbait near the Junabee Road Bridge.

JACKALL MICRO POMPADOUR

The new Micro Pompadour if a Prop & Double hook. The rear prop makes a complex water current and noisy sound on the surface. Jackall has decreased line trouble by steady rear prop and double hook.  It has unique metal wings. The custom metal wings can crawl on the surface very well. When you try straight retrieving, it makes a big wave. it can also make a ripple on the surface when shaking.

Fishing Report 17/7/2017

LESLIE DAM: Anglers at Leslie Dam reported on some quality Golden Perch being landed on frozen shrimps and saltwater yabbies.  Anglers fishing from the bank are landing the odd fish in the deeper water.  We received reports of a few better Golden Perch landed on Sunday on blades, with the darker colours having the most success.  We received a report of a legal sized Murray Cod being landed on a Jackall Pompadour from a kayak angler on Saturday morning.

CONNOLLY DAM: Connolly Dam saw a few Golden Perch being landed during the week, with most fish continuing to fall to bait.  Saltwater yabbies remain the most successful form of bait for the land based anglers.  We haven’t received too many reports of Golden Perch being landed on lures.  Spinnerbaits and TN50 Jackals would be worth a try if heading to Connolly.

RIVERS AND CREEKS: Anglers fishing the Condamine River landed some reasonable Golden Perch over the past week.  Anglers fishing below the Bacon Factory landed Golden Perch and some large Carp on bait.  We received a report on some legal sized Golden Perch being landed while trolling hard body lures in and upstream of the Mill Hole.  The Condamine River around the Victoria Hill and Pratten areas also saw several anglers trying their luck, with bait proving to be slightly better than lures.  However, there were some nice fish landed on darker coloured spinnerbaits.

JACKALL POMPADOUR

The Jackall Pompadour is a no brainer of a surface lure. You can fish it as simply as cast and slow retrieve or twitching it under trees or above snags. The rattling internals imitate a cicada or chattering bird. The buzz blade on the rear is for insect and bubble attractant. The wings pull the whole scenario together with their freestyle action to form possibly the coolest action and noisiest topwater lure you’ll ever use. “Cod and Bass slayer from heaven”.

Fishing Report 11/7/2017

LESLIE DAM: The Golden Perch landed at Leslie Dam over the past week have been larger than previous week.  These quality fish were landed in the deeper water in the main basin.  Frozen shrimps and saltwater yabbies are working well at the moment.  Anglers fishing along the eastern bank also managed to land some nice fish in comparison to previous weeks.  We received reports of some solid Golden Perch being landed in the deeper water near the Washpool Camping Reserve.  Anglers fishing with lures also had some success, with the majority of Golden Perch being landed close or hard on the bottom.  For this reason blades, mask vibes and plastics are all working the best for the lure anglers.  We received a report from a Clifton angler who managed to land three legal sized Golden Perch while trolling a Southern Cross Jackass around the Black Boys.  Anglers also reported on a few smaller Murray Cod on the move.

MAROON DAM: Anglers at Maroon landed some quality Bass in comparison to previous weeks.  Most of these fish are falling in or just off the weed banks.  We received reports of a few Bass being landed on plastics and ice-jigs.

RIVERS AND CREEKS: The Condamine River continues to fish quite well, with a few solid Golden Perch being landed on bait in the town area.  Anglers fishing on the eastern side of Warwick are having more success with lures, with some nice fish being landed around Killarney and Murrays Bridge.  We received reports of legal sized Golden Perch being landed in the Pratten and Clifton areas.

Fishing Report 4/7/2017

LESLIE DAM: Leslie Dam is fishing quite well at the moment, with some good numbers being landed over the past week.  We received several reports of some quality Golden Perch being landed in the main basin on saltwater yabbies.  These fish were landed in approximately 7 to 9 metres of water.  Most anglers are reporting on plenty of undersized Golden Perch (around 25cm – 28cm) as well as several smaller Murray Cod.  Campers at the Washpool had success on worms and saltwater yabbies, with some reasonable Golden and Silver Perch being landed from the bank.  Blades continue to be the best option for the lure anglers, as the majority of Golden Perch are sitting hard on the bottom.

CONNOLLY DAM: Connolly Dam saw a few better fish landed than previous weeks, with afternoons being the most successful time to try your luck.  Worms and crays are working well for anglers fishing from the eastern and northern banks.  Silent TN50 Jackalls also accounted for some legal sized Golden Perch.

RIVERS AND CREEKS: Anglers fishing the Condamine River continue to land some nice fish, with a few legal sized Murray Cod landed over the past week.  We received a report of four legal sized fish being landed on the eastern side of town, with spinnerbaits accounting for two of these fish.  Anglers fishing in the town area also managed to land a few nice fish, with legal sized fish coming out of the Mill hole, below the Wallace Street Bridge and out to Lyndhurst Lane.  There were also reports of a few quality Golden Perch being landed in the Dalrymple Creek at Goomburra on both lures and bait.
