Fishing Report 31/7/2018

Leslie Dam: Leslie Dam is fishing well, with some great fish being landed over the past week.  We received numerous reports of good numbers of Golden Perch being landed in the main basin, with some anglers landing over 30 Golden Perch in a session.  Most Golden Perch are in the deeper water at the moment so sinking soft vibes are working well for the lure anglers. Murray Cod were more active during the week, with several reports of legal sized fish being landed. One local angler landed a magnificent Murray Cod over the weekend. It measured 115cm and was landed on a hard body lure.

Connolly Dam: Connolly Dam us a little slow a the moment. Anglers are landing a few smaller Golden Perch along the bank on worms and saltwater yabbies. There was also a few legal sized Silver Perch landed on bait. Afternoons seem to be fishing better than mornings. We received two reports of smaller Murray Cod being landed on spinnerbaits along the western side of the dam.

Rivers and Creeks: The Condamine River remains quiet. The area between the Mill Hole and Warwick High was the most productive in the town area, with a local angler and his son landing one legal sized Golden Perch and three under sized fish on Sunday afternoon on bait. Anglers fishing in the Murrays Bridge and Cullendore area reported on a few smaller Golden Perch. Killarney anglers fishing upstream of the town, landed the odd legal sized fish on spinnerbaits and crays.

Fishing Report 25/7/2018

LESLIE DAM: Anglers at Leslie Dam continue to land some reasonable numbers over the past week.  Anglers commented on a few smaller fish on the move, with blades and mask vibes working the best for the lure anglers.  Most of the fish have been landed from midday onwards when sitting in approximately 5 to 6 metres of water.  Anglers reported on Murray Cod on the move with several reports of fish between 60cm and 70cm landed.

MOOGERAH DAM: Anglers at Moogerah landed some quality fish over the past week, with some solid Bass close to the 50cm mark.  Jackall Squirrels have been working well on the bigger fish.  Bait anglers landed some quality Golden Perch on shrimps.

RIVERS AND CREEKS: The Condamine River is fairly quiet at the moment, with not too many reports of legal sized Golden Perch or Murray Cod being landed.  Anglers fishing with bait landed the odd smaller Golden Perch upstream of the O O Madsen Bridge and in the Mill Hole area.  We received reports of only a few smaller Golden Perch being landed in the Killarney and Murray Bridge Area.  Anglers fishing on the western side of town reported on things being fairly quiet also.

RIVERS AND CREEKS: The Condamine River remains consistent with previous weeks, with only the odd legal sized fish being landed in the town area.  Spinnerbaits accounted for a lovely 70cm Murray Cod upstream of the Mill Hole.  We also received reports of only the odd legal sized Golden Perch being landed.  The Eastern side of town continues to be the most successful area to try.

Fishing Report 10/7/2018

LESLIE DAM: Anglers at Leslie Dam continue to have success on Golden Perch, with the majority of these fish being landed mid week on a variety of lures and bait.  The weekend was a little quiet, mainly due to the windy weather conditions.  Shrimps and saltwater yabbies accounted for some good numbers in the main basin.  We received several reports of Golden Perch measuring in excess of 35cm in length.  Blades and soft vibes continued to work the best for the lure anglers.  Anglers trolling hard body lures picked up a few nice fish in the more narrow part of the dam.  Two regular anglers commented on some smaller Murray Cod on the move, with some fish measuring close to the 70cm mark.  There were also a couple of larger fish that pulled the hooks.

CONNOLLY DAM: Anglers at Connolly experienced mixed results during the week.  Worms and saltwater yabbies accounted for a few better Silver Perch along the eastern bank.  Anglers commented on several smaller Golden Perch on the move.

RIVERS AND CREEKS: Anglers fishing the Condamine River reported on a few more fish than previous weeks.  Hard body lures were successful around the Killarney area, landing a few better quality Golden Perch as well as a few smaller Murray Cod.  We also received reports of some Golden Perch being landed in the town area on both lures and bait.  Spinnerbaits were the most successful for the lure anglers.

Fishing Report 3/7/2018

LESLIE DAM: Leslie Dam has seen an improvement over the past week, both in size and quantity of fish being landed.  We received several reports of anglers filling their bag limits of Golden Perch on both bait and lures. Blades and soft vibes are the lures working the best at the moment, particularly when fished in the main basin.  Anglers are landing the odd fish while trolling hard body lures, but the majority of Golden Perch are tight on the bottom in approximately 5 to 6 metres of water. Anglers landed some nice Golden Perch and smaller Murray Cod along the bank on bait.  We received three reports of legal sized Murray Cod, with the best measuring close to the 80cm mark.

CONNOLLY DAM: Connolly remains consistent on previous weeks, with only a few legal sized Golden Perch being landed over the weekend.  Anglers commented on some of the gates being locked which restricted their access to some spots of the dam.  Worms and saltwater yabbies worked well for the bait anglers along the eastern bank.  We received reports from a local angler of a lovely 71cm Murray Cod caught and released on a Jackall Pompadour early on Saturday morning.

RIVERS AND CREEKS: The Condamine River continues to be a little hit and miss at present.  Anglers fishing the eastern side of town had a little more success, with anglers in the Cullendore and Murray’s bridge areas landed some solid Golden Perch on spinnerbaits over the weekend.  We received the odd report of Golden Perch being landed in the town area.
