LESLIE DAM: Anglers
at Leslie Dam continue to have success on Golden Perch, with the majority of
these fish being landed mid week on a variety of lures and bait. The weekend was a little quiet, mainly due to
the windy weather conditions. Shrimps
and saltwater yabbies accounted for some good numbers in the main basin. We received several reports of Golden Perch
measuring in excess of 35cm in length.
Blades and soft vibes continued to work the best for the lure
anglers. Anglers trolling hard body
lures picked up a few nice fish in the more narrow part of the dam. Two regular anglers commented on some smaller
Murray Cod on the move, with some fish measuring close to the 70cm mark. There were also a couple of larger fish that
pulled the hooks.
CONNOLLY DAM: Anglers at Connolly experienced mixed results during the week. Worms
and saltwater yabbies accounted for a few better Silver Perch along the eastern
bank. Anglers commented on several
smaller Golden Perch on the move.
RIVERS AND CREEKS: Anglers fishing the Condamine
River reported on a few
more fish than previous weeks. Hard body
lures were successful around the Killarney area, landing a few better quality
Golden Perch as well as a few smaller Murray Cod. We also received reports of some Golden Perch
being landed in the town area on both lures and bait. Spinnerbaits were the most successful for the
lure anglers.
