Fishing Report 3/7/2018

LESLIE DAM: Leslie Dam has seen an improvement over the past week, both in size and quantity of fish being landed.  We received several reports of anglers filling their bag limits of Golden Perch on both bait and lures. Blades and soft vibes are the lures working the best at the moment, particularly when fished in the main basin.  Anglers are landing the odd fish while trolling hard body lures, but the majority of Golden Perch are tight on the bottom in approximately 5 to 6 metres of water. Anglers landed some nice Golden Perch and smaller Murray Cod along the bank on bait.  We received three reports of legal sized Murray Cod, with the best measuring close to the 80cm mark.

CONNOLLY DAM: Connolly remains consistent on previous weeks, with only a few legal sized Golden Perch being landed over the weekend.  Anglers commented on some of the gates being locked which restricted their access to some spots of the dam.  Worms and saltwater yabbies worked well for the bait anglers along the eastern bank.  We received reports from a local angler of a lovely 71cm Murray Cod caught and released on a Jackall Pompadour early on Saturday morning.

RIVERS AND CREEKS: The Condamine River continues to be a little hit and miss at present.  Anglers fishing the eastern side of town had a little more success, with anglers in the Cullendore and Murray’s bridge areas landed some solid Golden Perch on spinnerbaits over the weekend.  We received the odd report of Golden Perch being landed in the town area.
