CONNOLLY DAM: Connolly Dam has improved slightly, with anglers reporting of a few nice
fish landed on both lures and bait. One
local angler landed a couple of quality Silver Perch on worms, while another
landed some nice Golden Perch on TN60 Jackalls.
All of these fish were landed off the bank on the northern side of the
dam.
MOOGERAH DAM / MAROON DAM: Anglers at Moogerah Dam saw the best results while
trolling hard body lures in the timbered area to the southern part of the
dam. The most successful lure has been
the Smak Brolga. There were also several
fish landed on blades and tailspinners.
COOLMUNDA DAM: Coolmunda Dam fished well over the weekend. Anglers had success on lipless crankbaits around
the timber. TN60 Jackalls and Imakatsu
Piranhas proved the most successful lures.
Live shrimp worked well for the bait fishermen.
RIVERS AND CREEKS: Our local river system continued to fish well over the past week, with
reports from several anglers of fish being landed in the town area. One angler managed to land two Golden Perch
and an undersized Murray Cod in the Mill Hole on Sunday afternoon on
spinnerbaits. There were plenty of Carp
landed, with one local angler removing ten of these pests from our local
waterways. The majority of these pests
were landed on soft plastics. Things
were a little quiet to the west of Warwick . The Condamine River
is still quite dirty around the Pratten area, due to the heavy storms over the
weekend.
CONGRATULATIONS
Congratulations to three
inspiring young local anglers who competed in the Berkley Boodooma Brawl (which
is part of the Atomic Bass Australia Nation Tournament Series). Cody
Haynes came 11th in the Pro division, while James Buchner came 8th and Sean Haynes 9th in the Co-Angler division. Well done boys!!!
