FISHING REPORT 22/12/2015

LESLIE DAM: Golden Perch at Leslie Dam are active at the moment, with anglers having success over the past week.  There were plenty of Golden Perch landed in lures in the main basin over the weekend.  Trolling hard body lures seems to be a method that is working very well at present.  The fish are sitting in approximately 20 to 25 feet of water.  We also received reports of several smaller Murray Cod being landed, with the largest measuring 65cm in length.  Live and frozen shrimps as well as saltwater yabbies are also accounting for some nice Golden and Silver Perch.

CONNOLLY DAM: Connolly Dam has seen some improvement, with a few anglers reporting of some legal sized fish being landed.  One local angler landed a lovely Murray Cod from his kayak on a spinnerbait.  This fish was estimated to be close to the metre mark in length.  We also received reports of some nice Golden Perch being landed on TN70 Jackalls.  These fish are hard in the weed so it is important to place your cast in the correct spot.  There were also some nice Golden and Silver Perch, as well as the odd Catfish, landed on bait, with saltwater yabbies working the best.

MOOGERAH DAM / MAROON DAM: The Bass at Maroon have been a little tight lipped over the past week or so.  Anglers are sounding plenty of fish in the deeper water but are struggling to get them to bite.  Plastics seem to be the best option on the deeper fish.  Spinnerbaits casted hard into the weed edges are also accounting for the odd fish.  There have also been a few fish landed in the mouth of the creek and along the timber on shrimps.

RIVERS AND CREEKS: The Condamine River is starting to improve, with a few more fish being landed on the eastern side of Warwick.  We received reports of some nice Golden Perch being landed just below the weir at Queens Park on bait.  The river is still a little dirty around the Pratten area, so things remain a bit quiet.  Shrimps and crays have been working the best in the Clifton area, with one local angler landing 4 Golden Perch on Sunday afternoon.  One lucky angler landed a lovely Murray Cod, measuring approximately 75cm, in the Killarney area in a red and black TT Spinnerbait.
