FISHING REPORT - 13/10/2015

LESLIE DAM: Leslie Dam anglers commented on things being a little slow again, with only a few fish being landed over the past week.  One local angler caught and released a lovely Murray Cod, measuring 104cm, early on Saturday morning.  This fish was landed on a 1/4oz Blade on 8 pound Toray leader.  What a great effort.  There were a few Golden Perch landed in the main basin in the deeper water on blades and Jackall Genes.  We also received reports of a few fish being landed on trolled hard body lures around the Black Boys.  Shrimps also accounted for a few fish over the weekend, but numbers weren’t huge.  Anglers also had some success just to the north of the Ski Club.

CONNOLLY DAM: Connolly Dam remains fairly quiet.  We only received a few reports of fish being landed.  Bait has accounted for most of these fish.  The eastern bank has been the most successful.  One local angler landed two legal sized Golden Perch on saltwater yabbies on Sunday afternoon.

RIVERS AND CREEKS: The Condamine River is well worth a try, with several quality fish landed over the past week.  Spinnerbaits have been working well on the town area, with reports of legal sized Golden Perch landed in various spots.  Killarney through to Murrays Bridge saw several fish landed, with hard body lures working well.  One family had success on Saturday, landing several legal sized Golden Perch in the Killarney area on Hydro Bugs.  Don’t forget to release your Murray Cod during closed season – 1 September to 30 November.

CONGRATULATIONS

Congratulations to Cody Haynes for competing in the Bass Nation Grand Final, held at Boondooma Dam last weekend.  Well done Cody.
