Fishing Report - 7/11/16

LESLIE DAM: Anglers at Leslie Dam saw some good numbers of Golden Perch landed late last week and early into the weekend.  Several anglers reported on landing these fish on bait, with saltwater yabbies and frozen shrimps working very well.  Lure anglers also picked up some nice fish, with blades working well in the main basin when fished close to the bottom.  Black seems to be the most successful colour at the moment.  TN60 Jackalls are also landing plenty of Golden Perch in the main basin.  We received three reports of legal sized Murray Cod being landed, one fish measuring 101cm.  This fish was landed on a TN60 Jackall in the main basin.  The other Murray Cod were landed on spinnerbaits.

CONNOLLY DAM: Connolly Dam remains consistent, with several anglers reporting on Golden Perch being landed from the bank.  A Toowoomba angler landed four legal sized Golden Perch and two Silver Perch on Friday afternoon while fishing with saltwater yabbies.  We received reports of some quality Golden Perch being landed on lures, with spinnerbaits and hard body lures all landing fish.

RIVERS AND CREEKS: The local river and creek systems are fishing well, particularly the Condamine River on bait.  Anglers fishing in the Pratten area are having success on crays and worms.  We received reports from anglers fishing in the Sandy Creek area are landing some good numbers of Golden Perch on small crays.  Anglers have also landed some nice fish upstream and downstream of Scots Weir.  The Dalrymple Creek around Allora is fishing reasonably well on bait lures and bait.  We received reports of Golden Perch measuring up to 58cm being landed over the past week.

CONGRATULATIONS

Congratulations to James Buchner in placing a very close second in last weekend’s B.A.S.S Australia Nation Glenbawn Challenge.  Thanks James for your support.  What a fantastic effort.
