Fishing Report 4/9/2018

LESLIE DAM: Anglers at Leslie Dam are landing a few more fish than last week.   Midweek anglers reported on some nice fish being landed, with afternoons proving to be the most successful.  The windy conditions on Saturday saw anglers only landing a few fish from the bank.  We received a few reports of Golden Perch and Catfish landed at the Washpool on frozen shrimps and saltwater yabbies.  Anglers on Sunday had more success, with anglers reporting on some reasonable numbers of legal sized Golden Perch as well as the odd Murray Cod.  Blades continue to be the lures of choice for the lure anglers.

CONNOLLY DAM: Anglers at Connolly experienced mixed results, with some having more success than others.  Bait anglers are landing some legal sized Golden Perch on worms and crazy along the edges.  Kayak anglers landed some solid Golden Perch while trolling spinnerbaits and TN70 Jackalls in the deeper water.

RIVERS AND CREEKS: The Condamine River continues to fish well in some spots.  Anglers fishing the eastern side of Warwick reported on some solid Golden Perch being landed on lures.  Spinnerbaits are working well at the moment, with several reports coming from the Cullendore/Murray’s Bridge areas.  The town area also produced a few legal sized Golden Perch on diving hard body lures.  The western side of Warwick was a little slower this week.

PLEASE NOTE

Don’t forget it’s Closed Cod Season in all Queensland waters contained in the a Murray Darling Drainage Division - 1 September to 30 November, with the exception of Leslie Dam, Connolly Dam, Cooby Dam, Coolmunda Dam, Glenlyon Dam, Storm King Dam and Beardmore Dam.
