Fishing Report 24/4/2018

Leslie Dam: Anglers at Leslie Dam continue to land some nice fish from the bank on bait.  The eastern bank proves to be quite successful, with several Catfish and the odd better quality Golden Perch being landed on on shrimps and worms.  Blades and soft vibes have been the most successful for lure anglers.  Hard body lures have also accounted for a few smaller Golden Perch along the Washpool.  Anglers targeting Murray Cod have managed to land some smaller Murray Cod on spinnerbaits.

Moogerah Dam: Moogerah Dam is on the improve, with anglers reporting on some nice Bass over the past couple of weeks.  The timbered areas are worth a look as there were some nice fish landed in this area on spinnerbaits and Jackall TN60s.  Soft plastics also accounted for a few nice Bass in the main basin.  Anglers reported on landing some quality Golden Perch on bait.

Rivers and Creeks: The Condamine River is fishing reasonably well at the moment, with a few reports of some nice fish being landed.  Numbers haven't been huge but the fish caught have been of a quality standard.  One local angler caught and released a lovely 90cm Murray Cod on a surface lure.  Most of the usual sports to the east and west of Warwick are producing a few fish, particularly for lure anglers.  There were also some Carp removed from our local waterways.

PRODUCT REVIEW

Shimano Tranx 300

The Shimano Tranx is the next level in saltwater proofed baitcast reels. Featuring the coreprotect concept, meaning the Tranx range has greatly improved water resistance whilst maintaining a “free” feel when winding. Ideally suited to most baitcasting applications like soft-baiting, light-jigging and casting small and medium sized Shimano stick-baits. The Shimano Tranx baitcaster reels are not only ergonomic in the hand, packed with more than enough drag, durable and strongly built but are also setting the bar in water resistance.
